Community-submitted content is not professionally reviewed for botanical accuracy. No content on this platform constitutes expert advice, medical advice, or a recommendation to consume any plant, fruit, fungus, or herb.

The AI identification feature uses machine learning models that can and do make mistakes, including misidentifying toxic species as edible ones. The confidence percentage shown is a statistical estimate — a 90% confidence score does not mean 90% safety.

• Never rely solely on AI identification to determine if something is safe to eat
• Always cross-reference with a physical field guide, expert forager, or botanist
• Similar-looking species can be the difference between edible and deadly
• Appearance varies significantly by season, ripeness, region, and growing conditions

• When in doubt, leave it out. Never eat anything you cannot identify with 100% certainty from multiple independent sources
• Some plants are only edible at certain growth stages — the same species can be safe unripe but toxic when mature, or vice versa
• Allergic reactions can occur even to commonly eaten species — start with small quantities when trying anything new
• Never forage near roads, industrial sites, or areas that may have been sprayed with pesticides or herbicides
• Wash all foraged produce thoroughly before consumption
• Keep children and pets away from unidentified plants and fungi
• If any doubt exists about identification — do not eat it

Pins, descriptions, comments, and corrections on Axion Wild are submitted by community members. While AI moderation and human review are applied, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of any community-submitted content.

A find that has been "confirmed" by other users indicates that those users visited the same location and agreed with the identification — it is not a professional botanical verification. Confirmation counts should not be used as the sole basis for identifying something as safe to eat.

Pins you submit include an approximate GPS location. This location is visible to all app users. Do not submit finds in private areas where your location could identify your home or private property.

A device identifier is stored locally to attribute your finds and maintain your explorer profile. No personally identifiable information (name, email, phone) is required to use this app. Explorer names are chosen by users and are publicly visible on the leaderboard.
